A Passion for Words

Kate's passion for words began as a child when she devoured all her own books, the mobile library's and then her mum's. She even tried to write a street newspaper. Her entry into the literary world was delayed when she did the sensible thing and worked as an insurance broker for ten years. After becoming a mother, Kate returned to education and now teaches middle grade pupils. When not planning and marking, she writes from her home in Bedfordshire.

Interviewer

Kate Packman chaired Ampthill Literary Festival for seven years and started interviewing authors at literary events in 2022. Her experience as a writer, reader and literary event organiser make her an an ideal host for author events.
